Going Global

To “go global” is what a lot of business owners dream about. Going global is actually easier than you might think, though, thanks to the internet. Virtually all businesses now have the chance to go global if the owner wants to.

How to “go global”

If you run an ecommerce business you should already know that going global is just a case of setting permissions on your selling platforms to allow for sales from overseas. That’s all there is to it! If you’re doing things like search engine optimization as a part of your marketing campaign, you should see a good number of orders coming in from overseas, which can really help with drives to increase sales.

If you’re not in the ecommerce game though and you run a design agency for example, you could think about advertising yourself as available for hire on one of the many freelance websites out there like Elance.com, Freelancer.com, Guru.com, and so on. These sites allow you to receive money via PayPal which can then be paid directly into your personal or business bank account – it’s that easy! You’ll find clients from across from the globe on these sites too – from South Africa to China, from Norway to Japan.

Reaching a global audience of buyers, customers and clients has never ever been easier – there’s literally a world of potential out there for you as a business owner to exploit. You are quite literally leaving lots of money on the table if you don’t “go global” and make use of the internet to sell your business around the world.

Even bricks and mortar businesses can go global if the owner desires

If you run a shop and your foot fall has been steadily decreasing, why not look into going global? You don’t have to move anywhere – you can stay in your shop, but you should setup a website and/or accounts to sell on the likes of Amazon and eBay. You can reach a global market of buyers through these platforms – so next time you’re sat around bored in your shop, start listing your products online too. Not only can you drum up some decent business domestically, you should soon start to see some orders pouring in from overseas.
